Milspec’s working partnership with Rheinmetall began in October 2015 when they were contracted to provide over 2,500 vehicle installation kits for the Land 121 Phase 3B contract.
In July 2013, the Australian Defence Force contracted with Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia, to supply it with an extensive fleet of advanced logistical vehicles.
Milspec Manufacturing will design, build and install over 2,500 front bar and rear panel installation kits as well as over 2,500 installation kits for the truck cabins to accommodate the communication equipment used by the Australian Army.
On awarding this contract to Milspec, Peter Gray, RMMVA’s Project Manager Heavy Vehicles, remarked that ‘The Milspec engineers have been of great assistance by providing us with prototypes to support the verification phase of the lead vehicle program. They are a very capable and customer focused team.’
It is a long term relationship that leverages the benefits of Milspec as a subsystem designer and manufacturer.
“Milspecs ability to adapt, redesign and then deliver, allowed them to win this work against top European and Australian competitors.”
